ParticipantIf you liked to say that Trump won in 2016 by only 77,736 votes in three crucial states (PA MI WI), then consider that Biden won in 2020 by even less — 43,809 votes — in three crucial states (AZ GA WI). From Michael Barone: https://t.co/X9VzG46Kym

I don’t know what the outcome of these election challenges will be. I analogize it to trying to overturn a jury verdict… really difficult because the standards of review are against you, and all presumptions are in favor of the verdict.
Last week, the “evidence” looked weak. Then the hearings began, and it started to look stronger. Then the Atlanta / Fulton County video hit (apparently obtained at 1AM today, therefore the legislator who claimed it had already been “debunked” was shut down really quickly), and that’s pretty shady. I DO remember that shortly after election night, someone claimed to be delivering something near the arena, and took pictures of suitcases being rolled into one of the vote counting places.
As I posted before, what I would really like to happen out of this election is a return to election security (yes, including voter ID), and the death of unproven, speculative “voter suppression” arguments as an excuse to prevent common sense measures to ensure secure elections.

ParticipantPossibly. The Internet makes it easy for people to be jerks / a–holes, including acting out in real life, thinking the relative anonymity of the Internet translates into real life. Of course, the second anyone does anything remotely controversial nowadays, they run to the “I’m being threatened” card. Yes, some of the threats are very real and should be taken seriously, but at this point, ascribing blame for threats is really tricky and difficult to prove.

ParticipantThis is exactly why you have ballots that only have voting for Joe Biden & no one down ticket.
It is very rare for presidential campaigns to look at ballots for irregularities. But local campaigns do. If they were to see this type of fraud, ballots would get challenged.

ParticipantThe Deep State is real. Just for the record, I’ve said before, and I’ll say it again, the Iran Deal was a test of Democratic control of the media that the American people (and the media) failed. If we re-enter the Iran deal, that will be a huge foreign policy misstep of epic proportions. They’re going to cheat anyways. We shouldn’t give them money to cheat and continue their terrorism across the Middle East.

Participant*shrug* Big Tech decided they wanted to follow the mainstream media into trying to tell people what to believe. As a result, they’ve lost credibility just like the major news organizations have All this “disputed,” “suspension,” “fact-checking” stuff goes one way, and as a result, lacks credibility. They’ve made their bed, they’re going to have to live with the possible consequences. Of course, those who benefit just won a top-line election, but if they keep it up, those who are most affected may win the legislative branch, and then there will be h— to pay.
There’s a reason why populism is making a comeback. The arrogance of the media, big tech, and the “elites,” has become too much. Top down management of all aspects of people’s lives, WHILE jobs are being lost, businesses are going under, and in general people’s lives are becoming less free is having a tangible effect. Say what you will about Trump, he really did deliver on the economy and making people feel more free (unless you bought into the media’s “fascism” garbage).

Real household income rose, not just for the wealthy, but for EVERYBODY under Trump. Minority wages rose across the board. Employment numbers for the poorest, minorities, women, etc., reached unprecedented levels.
Whine all you want about the Trump tax cuts, but they provided real tax relief to the poorest and middle class (the nature of a progressive tax system means you CANNOT cut taxes without benefiting the people in the top income brackets on some level). You wonder what the Trump appeal was? Talk to the non-political classes.

ParticipantThere’s some interesting stuff going on all over the country.
Continued statistical analysis shows wild numbers of people who voted ONLY for Joe Biden and didn’t vote further down the ticket:
Pennsylvania — 98,000
Georgia — 80-90,000
Arizona — 42,000
Michigan — 69- 115,000
Wisconsin — 62,836I have people going through all the anomalies. pic.twitter.com/nb0EhIGkq3

We need comprehensive election reform. Early voting is fine. Counting super late ballots, universal mail ballots, ballot harvesting, no signature / ID matching, etc. need to go. I’ve heard proposals for blockchain solutions and third / neutral party counting / auditing solutions, as well. If you think it can’t be done on a bipartisan basis, look at Florida post-2000. There was an attempt to steal the Senate seat (and the Governor’s seat) in 2018, but a concerted Republican effort forced the corrupt Broward County election officials to stop some really sketchy (and illegal under Florida law) practices, saving the seat.

ParticipantI’ve voted absentee before. This time, I dropped my ballot off in person at a drop box. It still sucks. I would rather stand in line, and vote in person, but California doesn’t do that anymore.

Participant
There are 80,000 patients in PA, with similar numbers in MI, FL, etc.
There are fewer patients in PA and MI because of their governors. *zing* Actually, I think PA rescinded their nursing home order after the health official was caught pulling her grandmother out of a nursing home just before the order went into effect. Remember the Ilhan Omar videos? They knew nursing homes were a good source of votes.
I hate mail-in voting. If I was given an option, I would have voted in person, on Tuesday. The bar code on my envelope was crooked. I hope that doesn’t mean anything, but it seemed like it was a weird anomaly. I guess we’ll see what happens with my vote.
October 22, 2020 at 2:28 am in reply to: For the Few of You Left, FBI Has Linked the Biden Laptop to Money Laundering #3192rogpodge
ParticipantThis is rather pedestrian. Yes, there’s an FBI investigation into international money laundering by Hunter and his associates. They used an already open case (low evidentiary standard) to obtain the laptop. Having a case number and having the repair store owner testify as to chain of custody before a grand jury is not that exciting.
Now this has legs.

Palm tree maintenance is no joke.
We all know what Toobin was doing on Zoom, right? He had two Zoom windows open, one was his workplace "election wargame," the other was some lady he was video-sexing with and, thinking his other camera off, he tilted the screen down to show the lady he was…enjoying himself.
